Last weekend I played at a “chill”
RTT at my FLGS “Endless Gaming”
Though small in attendance it was
stacked in fun and competition. A few of my friends who all take the
game very seriously were in attendance. My boys EJ, Horton, Juice
and Delgado among others.
The Event was 2k and normal force
organization. I felt it necessary to run a new idea of mine
represented by some of the units in the list posted. After a very
successful play test , going 3-0 at the 2k level. I felt the lists
true potential is at the ridiculous 1750 point level.
The obvious power in the list is the 5
AV12 flyers. The drakes for obvious reasons and the vendettas are
still highly point effective but also can be taken as a squadron with
a ludicrous foot print. The squadron is at times hard to maneuver .
This is offset by the 1 reserve roll to bring them all on or leave em
all off.
What I like about this list is that I
have over 100 infantry models including 90 fearless zombies with FNP.
The Aegis wall provides a reliable 4+ cover save that I use to cover
a weak spot in the terrain. Obviously Tau and Eldar have ways to
eliminate cover but not every shot does.
Huron Black Heart is a true pimp
though. Infiltrating only 30 zombies in 33% of games, 30 zombies
+Typhus in 66% and 50 zombies + Typhus in another third of games.
This is a ruthless trick at 1750 IMO. Especially when relic missions
are being played. Obviously 30 zombies and Typhus causes problems for
the enemy game plan. Typhus can absorb a ton of damage for the squad
and beat down a lot of different types of units. Huron himself is a
solid back field objective protector.
The vendettas sport 9 twin-linked las
cannon shots, and transport 6 BS4 melta guns which can be crucial vs
AV14. Meanwhile the dragons can deal with infantry very effectively.
