August 2016 is when I made partner on twitch! This is one of the most important things that ever happened to me and my business. I want to thank all the viewers over the years. Many of you became my IRL friends along the way.
I have shared countless beers and swapped many stories with you at tons of conventions all over the country.
I take pride in this anniversary month. I will show my arrogance here in this post with a little history.
Kenny Boucher brought miniatures to twitch. I mobilized my audience. I spent real ass money on FB ads, YT videos, podcast spots and more. Though I was not the first guy to ever have the idea to paint on twitch I was the guy who rolled up his sleeves and destroyed all road blocks.
I interacted with the painters already on this platform like KeyLimePrime (who I adore to this day) I became part of a stream team. I used my knowledge of marketing and branding to help many other streamers grow. I made multiple forever-friendships including Jason from Slowfuse Gaming (now Monument Hobbies).
I was approached by the curator of creative streaming on Twitch. I was acknowledged for my growth and marketing. I was giving moderation roles over the community platform they implemented. (which is long gone and in the past)
Throughout the years I have had many haters. Many streamers who I even helped, turned their backs on me, and actively worked against me. One truth remains and this has always been my stance on the Twitch market.
"All ships rise with the tide"
This sounds arrogant but fuck it. That's how I feel.
The NLP community we have built together over the last 8 years is why the broader category of miniatures exists on twitch as a viable form of content creation today.
